Join us at Knocksink Nature Reserve for a fascinating workshop exploring the world of solitary mining bees. This workshop provides an introduction to Ireland’s solitary bees, where we will look at the features of identification, as well as their life cycles, habitats, and where to find them. The main focus will be on mining bees. This will be followed by fieldwork to search for solitary bees and test your identification skills.
Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch.
Clothing: Sturdy walking boots. Please dress appropriately for the weather and outdoor terrain.
Health & Safety: Please be mindful that this workshop includes an element of teaching outdoors. Warm waterproof clothing and good walking footwear are essential. As a rule of thumb, it is generally expected that any participants who sign up for a workshop that involves spending time in the outdoors will own and bring the appropriate outdoor clothing. A risk assessment for this event has been completed and participants are asked to listen carefully to the safety briefings that are delivered on the day.
Kindly note that the event may be cancelled if the minimum registration requirement of 10 is not met.
